Child Dental Benefit Schedule

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule was implemented on 1 January 2014. The program is geared toward providing basic dental services to eligible children, aged 2 to 17 years. The services are capped at $1,000 per child over a period of two calendar years.

All CBDS services are paid in bulk through Medicare. To be eligible, an applicant must pass the means test, which includes receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A (FTB-A) or a relevant Australian Government payment.

The range of services available under the CDBS include dental check-ups, extractions, cleaning, fillings, root canals, X-rays, fissure sealing, and partial dentures. However, cosmetic or orthodontic dental work and any dental services provided in a hospital are excluded from the benefits.

Perfect Teeth Cairns is providing services under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule for eligible families.
